I just got a call from Bob...he wanted me to alert all that he is unreachable for now. 18" of snow...trees down and power lines snapped.

He is fine and staying warm by a wood burning stove. I'm sure he'll post as soon as power is restored.

Sounds like it could be a romantic interlude in store with the beautiful and gorgeous Rosie

Just what wood is Bob burning to stay alive ?

We're in the middle of the biggest drought in our country's history - been going on and on (and on and bloody on) for years. So you can probably understand how we downunder don't really understand what it means to be in Bob's situation. Is this something that happens all the time or is it serious? (I saw snow when I was on holidays a couple times) Is The Zootster going to be ok?

Paul,

According to my friend in New York, snow in October is not unusual for them, but it's seldom more than a few inches a day average. This storm dumped a foot and a half 40 or 50 cm in one day. But they'll be OK. I'm more worried about his zoot!

Didn't Bob just get finished with his insulated zoot vault, or is my memory failing me?

I just spoke with Bob on the cell phone. He's totally without power and may be without it until Wednesday. Apparently there's talk of calling in the National Guard to help with tree limb removal and getting people food etc. Bob has a wood stove as J.J. mentioned, and is at least keeping toasty. He said he will burn the furniture before burning the zoot, so don't worry about that! But he's been walking around with a candle trying to fin his flashlights. He has several, but just can't find them! Poor Bob! If anyone nearby him has a spare generator, lend it to Bob!

Oh, Bob says to say hi to everyone and is most put out because of not being able to get online and check in with everyone here.
